Zac Brown Tests Positive for COVID-19, Band Pauses Tour: ‘I Am Deeply Disappointed’
The Comeback Tour launched Aug. 5 in Holmdel, N.J. When the band announced the tour in May, they revealed that several artists would be joining them for several shows on the tour, including Teddy Swims, Ashland Craft, Gabby Barrett, Adam Doleac and Devin Dawson.
A rep for the band confirms to Billboard that the tour’s concluding show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, set for Oct. 17, is still set to take place as scheduled.
The tour takes its name from Zac Brown Band’s upcoming album, The Comeback, set to release Oct. 15 via Warner Music Nashville/Home Grown Music. In addition to the group’s current radio single “Same Boat,” they have released tracks from the project including “Fun Having Fun.”
“‘Fun Having Fun’ is about all the dumb stuff you do when you’re a kid,” Brown previously said of the track via a statement. “One of my co-writers on the track is actually my buddy Kurt (Thomas), who I went to high school with in Dahlonega. He and I made a demo tape when we were kids called KZ, for Kurt & Zac, and he was the first guy I ever sat down with and thought, ‘We’re gonna be big.’ It was fun to circle back to that time in my life and remember some of the things that we did together, especially with the perspective of now being a parent. We really wanted to include a bluegrass-type song on this album, and ‘Fun Having Fun’ was definitely the right one.”
