Anne Wilson’s ‘My Jesus’ Debuts at No. 1 on Top Christian Albums Chart: ‘I Am So Thankful’

Anne Wilson‘s debut full-length studio album My Jesus launches at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Christian Albums chart (dated May 7). Released April 22, the set earned 13,000 equivalent album units, with 9,000 in album sales, in the week ending April 28, according to Luminate.

“I am blown away that My Jesus debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart,” says Wilson. “I am so thankful for all the Lord has done through these songs so far, and I can’t wait to see what He continues to do.”

My Jesus concurrently opens at No. 8 on the all-genre Top Album Sales chart.

The 20-year-old Wilson, from Lexington, Ky., first released the EP My Jesus: Live in Nashville, which debuted at No. 17 on Top Christian Albums last August and reached No. 12 in October.

“My Jesus,” Wilson’s debut single, ruled the multi-metric Hot Christian Songs survey for four weeks and Christian Airplay for six frames beginning last August.

Meanwhile, Wilson’s sophomore single “Sunday Sermons” climbs 12-8 on Hot Christian Songs, becoming her second top 10, both of which she co-wrote. The track drew 1.4 million U.S. streams in the tracking week. On Christian Airplay, it pushes 12-11 for a new high, up 1% to 4.3 million impressions.

An ‘Amazing’ Run

Meanwhile, Pastor Mike Jr. scores his third straight career-opening No. 1 on the Gospel Airplay chart as “Amazing” ascends to the summit with a 13% gain in plays.

The streak marks a first in the chart’s 17-year history, after three artists have achieved two consecutive career-starting leaders: Casey J, DOE and William McDowell.

“Amazing” follows Pastor Mike Jr.’s “I Got It,” which dominated for four weeks starting in March 2021, and his first entry “Big Rock City,” which ruled for 10 frames beginning in February 2020.
