Yung Raja Pays Homage To His South Asian Roots In Cheeky ‘Spice Boy’ Video

Yung Raja is on a hot streak. Just two weeks ago, the Singapore rapper’s “Mami” single was featured on American late-night TV, getting a DM from Jimmy Fallon and the Questlove seal of approval. He’s keeping the momentum with the release of his brand-new track, “Spice Boy,” accompanied by a signature Shtambi romp visual helmed by frequent collaborator Jasper Tan.

The music video shows Yung Raja as a movie theater custodian enacting his big Hollywood dream roles but distinctly inspired by the energy of Tamil cinema icon Rajnikanth.

On the Flightsch and RIIDEM-produced track, the bilingual rapper continues to showcase his South Asian heritage. “Since I was a child, I’ve always been proud of my culture: my roots, my mother tongue, everything that makes me, me,” Yung Raja shared in a press statement.

“Spice Boy” is Yung Raja’s second single of 2021, following “Mami.” Watch it below:
